Dear Friends:

Community is at the heart of everything we do at Davidson. And with growing concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic, we want you to know that the health and safety of you, our students and supporters, as well as our faculty and staff, is our top priority.

Some of you have contacted us with concerns about the effect this situation may have on our upcoming summer sessions. To put it bluntly: we don’t know. At present, we have no plans to cancel.

What we are doing is taking a day-by-day approach and monitoring this evolving situation in cooperation with both of our host sites.

  • As of today, Carroll University has notified us they will remain closed to outside events until May 14. Rockhurst University has not issued cancellation notices at this time, but has mandated a temporary closure to all university students and staff until further notice. We will send you updates on both sessions as we gain more information.

What should we do in the meantime?

  1. Keep an ear to the ground: We are closely monitoring the guidance from local and federal authorities, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) as a safeguard for us and our loved ones. We encourage you to do the same and stay informed.
  2. Stay connected to each other: Human connection is essential to our lives, and more so through our music. Every moment you practice or share your art with others is a meaningful act of support and encouragement.

There is nothing more powerful and resilient than our amazing community—we want to thank you for showing your care and concern and being a part of Davidson Scottish Arts Academy. Play on!

Yours aye,

The Faculty and Staff of Davidson Scottish Arts Academy
